Garden City, N.Y. - Earlier this evening, the #5 Adelphi women's lacrosse team hosted the Lakers of Grand Valley State University for a non-conference contest. After 12 first half goals, the Panthers added another 10 in the second frame to come away with a dominating 22-5 victory and improve their record to 8-0 overall while Grand Valley State drops to 2-4 overall with the loss.
 
The Panthers were led by Devan Crimi who scored nine points behind six goals and three assists. Rachel O'Brien added six points behind five goals and one assist while Danielle Jaycox  and Alexa Froccaro combined for six goals. Emily Keesling, Melyssa Mathewson and Sara Sangiorgio rounded out the Adelphi offense with five goals combined.
 
On defense, Crimi and Camille Rosellini each picked up four ground balls to lead the Panthers while Jacqueline Williams registered seven draw controls. In the cage, Jordann Dempsey picked up the win as she played all 60 minutes, allowed just five goals and made one save.
 
Brooke Ingraham led Grand Valley with two points behind one goal and one assist. Audrey Kobe played all 60 minutes between the pipes and recorded 11 saves.
 
The Panthers dominated in all offensive categories. They led 39 to 11 in total shots, 33 to six in shots on goal, and scooped up 26 total ground balls to just 11 for the Lakers. The Stickwomen led 15 to 13 in draw controls and caused 25 turnovers while committing just 11 themselves.
 
Grand Valley State got on the board first as Ingraham found the back of the net just 54 seconds into the game. From there, the Panthers' offense exploded. Keesling's seventh of the season sparked eight unanswered goals, capped by free position shots from Crimi and O'Brien to lead 8-1 with 13:55 remaining. Grand Valley managed to keep it a six goal game when Fritts found the back of the cage, but it's as close as they would get as they found themselves down 12-3 at the half with Jaycox and O'Brien rounding out the Panther's final goals of the initial 30 minutes.
 
After a Froccaro score to open up the second, Crimi and Jordan Luberto exchanged free position goals. However, the Brown and Gold put together an 8-0 run over the ensuing 15 minutes of action to put the game further out of reach. Punctuating the win was Mathewson's back-to-back scores with under seven minutes left to play. Grand Valley's Meagan Emery found the back of the cage with 4:09 left to play, marking the final score of the contest.
 
The Panthers return to action on Saturday, March 30 when they host the Skyhawks of Stonehill College for a 10:30 am Northeast-10 Conference contest.
