Men's Tennis Cruises by St. Anselm, 9-0

Panthers win second straight, improve to 4-1 in NE-10 play

Alan Chocron won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and was one of four Panthers to blank their opponents in solo action against Saint Anselm on Sunday.

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's tennis team dominated Saint Anselm College in a 9-0 win in Northeast-10 Conference action on Sunday. Winners of two straight, the Panthers climb to 8-5 overall and 4-1 in NE-10 competition while the Hawks are now 3-5 on the season and 1-5 in conference play.

Andreas Hammar and Alan Chocron led by example with an 8-2 victory in doubles play to set the tone for the Adelphi sweep in partners action. Bryan Kellenberg and Sander Brenner pulled off the most impressive doubles win of the day by a score of 8-1, and Brenner went on to pace a crew of four Panthers to earn shutout victories in singles play.

Hammar, Brenner and Chocron all cruised to the winners circle by 6-0, 6-0 finals, and Chiwete Njokanma silenced the opposition at an 8-0 pace at No. 6 singles.

The Panthers hit the courts again on Tuesday when they travel to the University of the Sciences for a non-league match at 2 p.m.
