Orlando, Fla. - The Adelphi University men's tennis team edged Bentley University 5-4 on Tuesday to improve to 5-3 on the season. The Falcons slip to 3-5 overall with the loss.
The last four singles slots proved crucial in the Panther victory as the Falcons took the top two singles matches and two-of-three in doubles play.
Boris Tiberkov and
Chiwete Njokanma fought to an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles for the lone partner win and then secured singles victories at the No. 5 and 6 slots, respectively.
Sander Brenner and
Alan Chocron sealed the deal with wins at No. 3 and 4 singles to pick up their teammates who were overcome by Bentley at the top two positions.
Adelphi returns to action on Thursday against St. Cloud State University.
