Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's tennis team played host to the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College on Friday afternoon in a non-conference contest. After falling behind 0-3 at the close of doubles play, the Panthers dropped three singles matches to seal a 6-0 loss. The Panthers end their fall season 0-3 while the Griffins improve to 3-1.
In team play, the Panthers came incredibly close to picking up two points, but were unable to get over the line. At second doubles,
Sander Brenner and
Chiwete Njokanma played tough before falling 8-5;
Uladzislau Litvinchuk and
Justin Vijungco battled to an 8-6 defeat at third doubles.
The Griffins dominated solo play as the Panthers only managed to tally three total games in six sets. Njokanma, Vijungco and Litvinchuk were all in the midst of play when matches were called due to darkness.
