Chesapeake, VA - In their second day of competition at the Hampton Roads Invitational, hosted by Norfolk State University, the Adelphi women's bowling team swept all matches to finish third in the tournament.
The Brown and Gold started its first match against Kutztown University, who had the best record in the NCAA at 15-1. With a final score of 4-1, the Panthers handed the Bears their second loss of the season.
The next match featured the hosts of the tournament, the Spartans of Norfolk State University. They stayed even with Adelphi through four games, but our keglers were able to prevail, nailing down the win 4-2.
In the third match of the day, the Panthers had a clean sweep of Virginia State University posting a final score of 4-0. The Pirates of Hampton University came aboard in the fourth match of the day, ultimately walking the plank as Adelphi posted another 4-0 win.
In their final performance, the Brown and Gold re-matched the KU Bears. Just like the first match of the day, Adelphi prevailed 4-1. They finished third in the tournament with 7180 pins from an 8-2 weekend. Their overall record now stands at 14-7.
