Game Two
A pitchers dual broke out in the early going of game two, as
Laurin Watts kept LeMoyne off the board for three innings and the Dolphins kept Adelphi scoreless. The Panthers left five runners on base in the first three innings combined and then loaded the bases in the fourth, but a
Jaclyn Binstock foul ball to the catcher, ended the threat and left
Heather Salerno,
Elizabeth Lindner and Dorko stranded.
LeMoyne managed one run on two hits in the fourth and scored two more in the sixth on a home run to center, to take a 3-0 lead, which would be the final score. A Binstock one out double to center gave the Panthers a base runner in the seventh and final inning, but the Brown and Gold could not get a run across home plate.
Watts was credited with the loss, but threw six innings, giving up just three runs and striking out six in another strong outing. Wink continued to swing a hot bat, going 2-3, while Dorko, Binstock, Krier and Lindner picked up one hit each.
Adelphi returns to action on Friday, April 6 when they travel to North Andover, Massachusetts for a 3:00 pm meeting with Merrimack.
