Panthers earns third shutout win in three matches

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's tennis team took a decisive 9-0 non-conference win over Post University on Friday afternoon, giving the Panthers their third shutout win of the year and their second 9-0 victory in three matches. The Panthers now stand at 8-11 overall, while the Eagles drop to 4-10.

Junior Andreas Hammar led the way for Adelphi and did not surrender a single game to his opponent during the match. The Panthers' top singles and doubles player paired with Ryan Ferguson for a dominant 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles before dimissing his singles competition by a score of 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Chiwete Njokanma continued his streak of outstanding play as well, prevailing 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and teaming up with Ryan White to win 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.

The Panthers play their final Northeast-10 Conference match of the regular season today when they travel to American International College at 2 p.m.
