Garden City, N.Y. – Earlier this afternoon, the #2 women's lacrosse team visited the Hawks of St. Anselm in a Northeast-10 Conference contest. The Panthers got started with six straight goals within the first 10 minutes, ultimately putting the game out of reach early on. 12 first half scores and 10 in the second saw Adelphi take a 22-12 win to boost their record to 6-1, 3-1 NE-10 while St. Anselm drops to 3-5, 1-3 NE-10.
 
Erica Devito led the charge for the Panthers, pouring in six goals and dishing out two assists for eight points on the day. Marissa Mills had a big game, scoring four goals, adding one assist and scooping up a team high four ground balls while Devan Crimi also chipped in with four goals of her own. Meg Brown had two goals and two assists while newcomer Danielle Jaycox tacked on three goals. Michelle Ceraso and Angela Oliveto combined for three goals to cap the scoring. Jordann Dempsey picked up her sixth win of the season as she made five saves and let up just 10 goals in 54:50 minutes of action
 
As a team, the Panthers outshot the host institution 39-23, picked up 19 ground balls, made good on 16 of 18 clear attempts, turned the ball over just 11 times and converted on three of four free position shots.
 
For St. Anselm, Meghan Smith accounted for four goals while Marissa Daly and Lauren Alfis added two each. Shawna Walsh, Sarah Doherty, Carrie Brophy and Kaitlyn Stazinski all chipped in with one goal apiece. Allee Ramzi took the loss on the day as she made just one save and gave up six goals in 8:42.
 
Just 20 seconds into the game, Crimi notched her 20^th goal of the season to jumpstart the Panthers. It was the beginning of six straight goals with Jaycox, Mills, and three Devito goals following, making it a 6-0 affair with the clock reading 21:18.
 
Daly broke the streak and got St. Anselm on the board at the 20:30 mark, but Adelphi continued to pour on the pressure, scoring six more goals off the sticks of five different women. In the latter part of the half, Alfis got one back for the Hawks, but they found themselves in a 12-4 deficit by halftime.
 
The two squads traded three goals each in the opening six minutes of the final act. Smith found the back of the net on Dempsey at 21:30 to cut the Panther advantage to seven, but it would be as close as they would get. Adelphi fired back with a three-goal run courtesy of veterans Ceraso, Mills and Crimi to beef the cushion back up to 18-8 with 18:44 left to play.
 
Another three-goal run from Devito, Crimi and Oliveto made it a twelve point game as time wound down, but St. Anselm would score on two more occasions before the final horn sounded in favor of Adelphi.
