Lantana, Fla. - The Adelphi University baseball team finished its six-game stint in Florida with a 12-4 loss to UMass Lowell in non-conference action at the Santaluces Sports Complex on Saturday. The River Hawks took advantage of five Adelphi errors and mashed 14 hits to improve to 7-6, while the Panthers move to 6-5 on the season.

Ten different Panthers knocked a hit during the game including five doubles, and Donato Signore, Richard Mejia and Kevin Hutzel each drove in a run. Adelphi used seven pitchers, and saw starter Jimmy Milani suffer the loss in 3.2 innings of work. Relievers Chris Pabisch and Matt Abramowitz each tossed a scoreless inning, with Abramowitz picking up two strikeouts.

For UML, Jimmy Ricoy had a game-high three hits, scored three times and drove in a pair. Five River Hawks registered multiple hits, and Bryant Guilmette threw 3.2 shutout innings to get the win in relief.

The River Hawks got on the board in the first on an RBI groundout by Cam Kneeland, tagging Milani for his only earned run of the day. UML then exploded for 11 runs between the fourth and seventh innings, including a five spot in the sixth, putting the Panthers in a hole from which they couldn't recover despite a three-run effort in the bottom of the fifth.

The Panthers begin a stretch of six games in five days when they travel to Caldwell College on March 21 for a non-league contest at 3 p.m.
