Manchester, NH – The #2 women's lacrosse team took on the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University earlier tonight in their first Northeast-10 Conference contest of the season. After scoring 12 first half goals, the Panthers tacked on another 11, courtesy of six different players scoring. Holding the home team at bay, Adelphi came home with a 23-12 victory. With the win, the stickwomen advance to 4-0, 1-0 NE-10 while SNH remains winless at 0-3, 0-1 NE-10.
 
Erica Devito amassed a total of 11 points on seven goals and four assists while Sara Sangiorgio had five goals, two assists and picked up five ground balls. Devan Crimi and Meg Brown each chipped in with four goals apiece with Alexa Froccaro and Marissa Mills combining for three to round out the scoring. Cage minder, Jordann Dempsey picked up her fourth win of the season, made three saves and allowed eight goals in 37:24 minutes of action.
 
As a team, Adelphi registered 45 shots, 35 of which were on goal, picked up 15 ground balls, and had 20 draw controls, seven of which were earned by Jacqueline Williams and five from Mills.
 
For the Penmen, Phoebe Clark and Emily Mongeau evenly split a total of six goals and two assists while Ellie Morin chipped in with three goals as well. Sara Halbich, Jade Antonangeli and Justine Clark capped the Penmen's goal scoring with one each.
 
SNH had 21 shots, 15 on goal, scooped up 11 ground balls and earned 17 draw controls.
 
In the opening 29 seconds of the game, Devito notched her first of three opening half goals to get the Panthers going. Mongeau responded just a minute later to even the slate at 1-1. Sangiorgio, Crimi and Brown each beat goalie Kellie Renk to make it a 4-1 affair, but SNH hung tough and came back with three goals of their own to tie the game once again.
 
Brown made good on two free position shots to retake the lead. Sangiorgio and two Devito goals ensued, pushing the lead to 9-4. Before the half, Adelphi scored two more from Froccaro and a goal from Sangiorgio to run the scoreboard up to 12 while holding SNH to just seven goals.
 
In the final chapter, The Panthers opened up with four unanswered goals split between Crimi and Devito. SNH would score five in the half, but seven more Adelphi goals, including another four straight within five minutes, proved to be too much to overcome as the stickwomen would take the win and keep their record untarnished.
 
#2 Adelphi is back in action on Saturday, March 17 when they travel to North Andover, MA to close out their fourth straight road game with a contest against Merrimack at noon.
