Holder Named Adelphi Male Rookie of the Year

6/25/2026 12:00:00 PM

Garden City, N.Y. – Making an immediate impact during his time as a Panther, Adelphi track and field's Jabari Holder was awarded the Adelphi Male Rookie of the Year Award at the department's end-of-year awards ceremony in May.

Holder, a native of Rensselaer, N.Y., wasted no time leaping into the record books while donning the Brown and Gold. The Columbia High School graduate was named the Northeast 10 Outdoor and Indoor Rookie of the Year while also earning Northeast 10 Indoor Field Athlete of the Year honors, becoming the first Northeast 10 freshman since 2016 to win two major awards in one season.

Holder broke a 50-year-old Adelphi school record, posting a 14.54-meter mark in the outdoor triple jump, which was good enough to advance him to the NCAA Championship. He also set the Adelphi indoor record in the triple jump with a mark of 15.07 meters.

"I'm truly honored and humbled to be named Adelphi's 2025-26 Male Rookie of the Year," remarked Holder. "I honestly don't feel like I can take full credit for this because this award belongs to every single person who believed in me this year… I'm just a freshman. I have so much more to learn and so much more to give, and I promise this is only the beginning."

More information on Adelphi's 2025-26 year-end award winners is forthcoming this week. Stay tuned to AUPanthers.com for updates.
