Austin, Texas — The College Sports Communicators announced its At-Large Academic All-District Teams for both the men and women on Tuesday afternoon, and 12 Panthers received honors.
The six women named to the All-District Team are Tiffany Wong, Lana Mignon De Wet, Kelly Johnson, Julia Foppiano, Alexandra Leggio and Rita Sefransky. The group includes three IWLCA All-Americans in Foppiano, Leggio and Sefransky, two Synapse Sports field hockey All-Americans in De Wet and Johnson, two Northeast 10 Players of the Year (Leggio and De Wet) and six all-conference selections.
Wong and Sefransky had the highest grade-point averages of the group, earning cumulative GPAs of 3.964 and 3.908, respectively. Foppiano, Leggio, De Wet, Johnson and Sefransky are currently under consideration for the CSC Academic All-America Team, which will be announced on July 7.
On the men's side, Mitchell Archer, Kyle Lewis, Michael Durnin, Danny Fisenne, William Greaves and Gavin Herzog were named to the All-District Team. Lewis, Durnin, Fisenne, Greaves and Herzog were all named All-Americans while helping the Adelphi men's lacrosse team win the Northeast 10 regular-season and championship titles and make its third straight trip to the NCAA Division II National Championship game.
Archer was a key piece of the Adelphi men's golf team that earned the No. 1 overall seed at the NCAA East Regional Tournament.
Durnin had the highest GPA among Adelphi's men's All-District selections with a 3.926 grade-point average, followed by Fisenne at 3.757. The men's lacrosse representatives are all under consideration for Academic All-America honors, with Lewis and Durnin looking to earn the distinction for the second consecutive year. The announcement will be made on July 8.
