Cleveland, Ohio — After capturing their third straight Northeast 10 Presidents Cup, the Adelphi Panthers have once again found their way into the top 40 of the Learfield Directors' Cup Division II final standings.
Placing 33rd out of 251 schools, Adelphi led all Northeast 10 institutions with 475 points, nearly a 50-point increase from last year. The Cats have now led the conference in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings seven times (2013-14, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2018-19, 2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26) during Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation Danny McCabe's 13-year tenure.
"We are honored to be ranked among the best Division II institutions in the country. The Learfield Cup represents the overall success of an athletics department, and we have so many people on our campus who contribute to this success," McCabe said. "I'd like to thank our student-athletes, coaches, administrators, alumni, family and friends for working together to allow Adelphi Athletics to be the best department it can be."
The Panthers were joined by Bentley as the only two Northeast 10 athletic departments to finish within the top 50. Adelphi's 33rd-place finish marks the 17th-best finish in conference history, and the school holds the best finish among current conference members, placing 18th in 2023-24.
Adelphi was propelled by its deep spring postseason runs, earning 375 of its 475 points during the season. The men's lacrosse team finished as national runners-up, while the women's tennis team recorded the best finish in program history, reaching the final 16 of the NCAA Tournament before falling to No. 1 seed Mississippi College. In 2025-26, nine Panther programs (men's soccer, women's volleyball, men's basketball, women's golf, men's golf, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, men's tennis and women's tennis) competed at the national level in their respective NCAA tournaments.
