Garden City, N.Y. - With the NCAA selection show on Sunday evening, the Adelphi University women's lacrosse team heard its name for the 20th time since 2002, earning the no. 1 seed in the East Region.
As host for the first and second rounds, the Panthers earn a first round bye, and welcome no. 4 Wilmington (Del.) and no. 5 Dominican (N.Y.) to Motamed Field on Thursday, May 7. The lower seeds will play for a spot in the second round, slated for Saturday, May 9.
On the other side of the bracket, Pace University slots in at no. 2 and will host the no.3 Mercy Mavericks (automatic bid from East Coast Conference) and first time participants, no. 6 Southern Connecticut State University.
After a slow start to the 2026 campaign, the Panthers are coming off an undefeated conference season and are amidst a 13-game win streak after capping the Northeast 10 Conference tournament with a one-goal victory against the Setters.
Adelphi leads all of NCAA Division II with nine national championships, and have appeared in the title game in each of the last two seasons.
