North Attleboro, Mass. – Adelphi University's Maddy Moore captured Northeast 10 Player of the Week honors following an incredible 11-hit week, helping the Panthers win five of six games over a seven-day span.
Moore broke out offensively, as her .611 average for the week helped raise her season batting average to .327, while she homered in three straight games.
The sophomore went 3-for-7 during the team's sweep at Pace, hitting her first long ball of the week, tallying three RBI and two runs scored, all in game two.
She opened weekend conference play at SNHU with a 3-for-3 performance that featured another home run and three RBI. Then, in game two, she went 2-for-4 and hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the top of the seventh that proved to be the game-winner.
During the finale of the four-game series, the Chester, N.H. native capped off her week with three hits in four at-bats, knocking in a run and scoring twice to help lead the team to a thrilling 9-8 extra-inning victory.
Moore and the Panthers return to the diamond on Wednesday when they host Southern Connecticut State University. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
