Suffern, N.Y. – Adelphi University's Francis Lanuza led the men's golf program to a second-place finish at the Charger Challenge on Tuesday afternoon, as the senior captured the individual title.

The Cats were one of four teams to compete in the two-day competition. The Panthers finished the tournament at 21-over as a team, four shots behind first-place Post University and 28 shots ahead of third-place Franklin Pierce University.

For Lanuza, it marks his second individual victory of the 2026 campaign, as the senior had posted two straight runner-up finishes in the team's previous two tournaments before taking the win in this event. Lanuza shot even par for the tournament to lead all golfers. After shooting a one-under (71) in round one, featuring five birdies at Spook Rock Golf Club, he followed it up with a one-over (73) in round two, tallying three more birdies.

Freshmen Zeus Sara and Ike Rothman finished in a tie for sixth place, both shooting seven-over to close out the regular season. Each golfer improved on day two, as Sara carded a 75, after opening with a 76, recording an eagle and four birdies during his play. Rothman posted a 77 in round one, followed by a 74 in round two, adding an eagle and two birdies for the tournament.

Mitchell Archer (9th) and Johnny Solari (10th) rounded out the starting lineup for the Brown and Gold. Archer shot eight-over for the tournament while mixing in seven birdies. Solari finished at nine-over, recording three birdies over his 36 holes.

Head coach David Mattana and the Panthers now turn their attention to the NCAA Regionals, as the team was recently announced as the No. 1 seed in the East Region. The team will travel to Sunnehanna Golf Club on Thursday, May 7, in Johnstown, Pa. The regional competition will conclude on Saturday, May 9, with at least the top three teams advancing to the finals, which will begin on Monday, May 18, in Boulder City.
