Gaffney Unveils Baseball's 2026 Schedule

2/3/2026 3:30:00 PM

Garden City, N.Y. – With a new era of Adelphi baseball underway with head coach Mike Gaffney at the helm, the first-year skipper has released the schedule for the 2026 season.

Picked to finish seventh in the newly formatted Northeast 10 Conference by its coaches, the Panthers are shooting much higher than that prediction. The Panthers return a wealth of production from last year's lineup in Albert Ramos, Johnny Catuosco, James Eden and Matt Ryan among others, as well as pitchers John Carver, Billy Kind, Zach Rovner, Jake Sekinski, Michael Tufo and more.

Adelphi will start the season in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Feb. 20 at noon against nationally ranked Felician for their first game of the Northeast Challenge. Over the next two days, the Cats will play a doubleheader against Queens (Feb. 21) and then a single game against the College of Staten Island (Feb. 22).

The Panthers will make their home debut on Friday, Feb. 27 when they face off with Long Island rival Molloy. That marks the first matchup of a three-game set with game two (Feb. 28) taking place in Rockville Centre before the series wraps up on William J. Bonomo Field (March 1).

The squad then travels to Cary, N.C. for the Cary Invitational. Adelphi will play four games over the course of three days, with a doubleheader against Wayne (Ohio) on March 8.

The first game back from North Carolina will be home against Queens College on March 11 at 3 p.m.

Adelphi then starts conference play with four games over the weekend against Saint Anselm. The two doubleheaders on March 14 and March 15 both will begin at noon.

A quick trip to Staten Island on March 17 to take on the CSI Dolphins sets the Panthers up for a five-game homestand that includes doubleheaders against Assumption (March 21 and 22) and a single game with Dominican (March 24).

As conference play continues, the team will travel to Colchester, Vt., and play a four-game weekend series against Saint Michael's on March 28 and 29.

The month of March ends with a tilt against Pace on March 31 at 3 p.m. before the Panthers welcome Franklin Pierce in for four games taking place on April 3 and 4.
