North Attleboro, Mass. - Despite a winless week for Adelphi women's lacrosse, senior defender Sonny Lionetti has been named Northeast 10 Defensive Player of the Week. 

The defender averaged 2.5 caused turnovers per game and 3.0 ground balls per contest, playing against no. 21 Florida Tech and no. 10 Lynn.

Against the Fighting Knights, she caused four turnovers and scooped a team-leading five ground balls while pulling in four draw control wins. She was also part of the unit that posted a perfect clear performance for the game, as Adelphi went 23-for-23.

The Panthers will continue their top-25 tour, hosting no. 10 West Chester in the home opener on Saturday, February 28. Opening draw is set for 1:00 p.m. on Motamed Field.
