New York, N.Y. - Current student-athletes
Ryan Moritz and
Nicholas Paul have been accepted into the college/open weight throw competition at the 118th Millrose Games, held at the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory.
In addition to the pair of current Panthers, three graduates from Adelphi have also made the entry list, including Evangelos Fradelakis '21,
Andre Francis '24 and current assistant coach
Kyria Moore '23.
Competition for the men begins at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30 and 4:00 p.m. for the women's flights.
2026 marks Moore's third acceptance to the Games, as she placed fifth in her last appearance a year ago with an attempt at 17.95m. With a lifetime best of 20.81m, Moore got as close as 20.08 meters on her second attempt at the 2023 NCAA Division II indoor championship, which at the time stood as a facility record.
Francis, Paul and Moritz all experienced training from Moore as she still serves on the Adelphi track and field staff. Last season, Francis won the weight throw event at the 2025 NE10 Indoor Championship with a personal best distance of 17.26m.
Mortiz's career-best of 14.96m was achieved this past December at the Art Kadish Elm City Challenge, as Paul's came over the weekend at the William Sutherland III Invite (15.40m) - both in the James Moore Field House located on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University.
Collegiately, Fradelakis' best was a 17.88m attempt at the 2020 NE10 Indoor Championships, to win gold. He later went on to qualify for the NCAA Division II Outdoor championships in the hammer throw the following outdoor season after winning gold at the conference championship. His personal best in the specialty is 20.75m.
