Northborough, Mass. - Coming off back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Division II Championship game and with a division-leading nine titles in tow, the Adelphi University women's lacrosse program checks in at no. 2 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll, released on Monday.

The University of Tampa, the two-time defending national champions, opens the 2026 season atop the IWLCA Division II Preseason Coaches Poll. Florida Southern appears at No. 3, West Chester at No. 4, and UIndy rounds out the top-five.
The regular season IWLCA Division II Coaches Polls are set to be released weekly at 10:00 a.m., beginning on Monday, February 16.
Head Coach
Pat McCabe, in his 11th season, has led the team to nine NCAA tournaments and won the Championship three times (2015, 2017, and 2019) and most recently made two straight appearances in the finale (2024, 2025). Adelphi leads three other teams from the Northeast 10 Conference in the preseason poll, as Pace appears at no. 7, while Saint Anselm and Bentley are no. 22 and no. 23, respectively.
The Panthers are set to take on seven different teams that appear in the top-25, starting with no. 24 Florida Tech (Feb. 17) as their season opener. The squad remains in the Sunshine State and will play at no. 11 Lynn University before returning north to host no. 4 West Chester University to round out the first three games of the 2026 campaign.
