Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is pleased to announce the launch of premier club sports programs focused on men's lacrosse and soccer, slated to begin in the fall of 2026. 

The expansion comes as the university looks to explore additional opportunities for students to participate in athletics and recreation while responding to emerging trends and opportunities. These programs will hold regular practices, competitive games against other institutions and quality training from full-time coaches. 

"We are looking forward to providing more competitive opportunities for students under the umbrella of club sports, which allow more Adelphi students to have quality, well-rounded athletic experiences here on campus," said Director of Athletics and Recreation Danny McCabe. "We are hopeful to contribute to enrollment efforts for the University by adding these club sports."

The men's club lacrosse program will operate as part of the National College Club Lacrosse League in the Metro NY Conference starting in the 2026-27 school year.  Men's soccer conference details are still being determined.
