Mansfield, Mass. – After another playoff appearance in the Northeast-10 tournament last season, the Adelphi University field hockey team has been picked to finish sixth in the conference, according to a preseason poll released Monday by the NE10's 13 head coaches.
The Panthers finished just four points behind Southern New Hampshire for the fifth spot and trailed Bentley by nine points. Last season, Adelphi's playoff run ended in dramatic fashion, with the Falcons edging them out in an overtime shootout thriller.
This marks the second consecutive year the Panthers have landed in the middle of the pack. Defending champions Assumption were selected second in the poll, while last year's runner-up, Saint Anselm, earned the top spot.
Head coach Jess Mulhern and the Brown and Gold will open their 2025 campaign on Thursday, Sept. 4, at Slippery Rock, as they look to defy expectations and climb the conference ranks.
