Mansfield, Mass. — After a successful 2024 campaign that saw the NE10 regular season champion Adelphi women's soccer team as the top seed in the NCAA East Regional, the Panthers are once again nationally ranked at #17 in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll and have been picked second in the Northeast 10 Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Trailing by just two votes, Adelphi (76 points, four first place votes) sits narrowly behind NCAA regional champion Franklin Pierce (78 points, six first place votes).
The Cats return some major firepower in all-American and NE10 player of the Kayleigh Goodrich along with top goalscorers Gia Mandile and Madison Apicella. The trio combined for 23 of the team's 34 goals.
Julianna Violi and Sarah Winnegar are back to solidify the back line while Peyton DeRouen will continue to patrol the net.
Head coach Brooke DeRosa and the Panthers open up their season on Thursday, September 4 when they take on Wilmington (Del.) at Molloy University. Kick off is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
