Adelphi Sees Ten on IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

7/24/2025 2:45:00 PM

Northborough, MA – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced its 2025 Division II Academic Honor Squads and Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday afternoon, with Adelphi University's women's lacrosse program receiving top academic recognition on both fronts.

Adelphi was named an IWLCA Division II Academic Honor Squad, recognizing programs that achieved a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher. Additionally, ten Panther student-athletes were named to the 2025 IWLCA Division II Academic Honor Roll, which honors upperclassmen (juniors, seniors, or Graduate Students) who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above.

The IWLCA recognized a total of 588 student-athletes from 84 institutions on this year's Academic Honor Roll, highlighting academic achievement across all of Division II.

Juniors Marielle Colalillo, Alexandra Leggio, Sonny Lionetti, Jillian McFadden, Rita Sefransky, and Sophia Tsintsadze received the honor for the first time in their Adelphi careers, having become eligible this academic year. They are joined by seniors Danielle Becker and Kristen Birney—both earning the distinction for the second time—as well as Amanda Lee and Madison Marchetta.

This year's total of ten honorees marks an increase from nine in 2024 and further reflects the program's excellence both on the field and in the classroom. All ten student-athletes played pivotal roles in leading the Panthers to their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship game this past season.
