Austin, Texas — After an impressive season on and off the court, Adelphi women's tennis's own Katarina Liedbeck has been named an Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators for the second consecutive year.
Accumulating a near perfect 3.98 grade-point average while majoring in computer science, Liedbeck is the first women's tennis player to repeat as an academic all-American.
The Bastad, Sweden native was the Panthers' primary number one singles player, tallying a record of 8-7 and earning a 13-8 doubles record. Liedbeck was a runner-up in the ITA East Region doubles championship with Roisin Boyd a year after claiming the title. The pair recorded an upset victory at the ITA Cup when they defeated the duo from Christian Lubbock. The NE10 recognized the junior as all-conference second team for doubles play and all-conference third team for singles play.
Liedbeck was also named a CSC all-district member along with Boyd, Caterina Federici, Marko Jovanovic, Hugo Munoz Reinoso and Reece Farrow.
