Smithfield, R.I. — On Wednesday afternoon, the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) announced its Academic All-America team, honoring 397 students from 66 different NCAA bowling programs.
For the second year in a row, the Adelphi bowling team had five members named as NTCA All-Academic Scholar Athletes.
Arianna Caballero, Arianne Guaman, Gayle Lopez, Payton Hoffay and Tiffany Wong all met the 3.4 grade-point average threshold to qualify them for the team.
"I am so proud of these young ladies for their organization skills, the balance they have between athletics and the amount of effort they give in the classroom," head coach Arthur O'Connor said.
All five Cats earned GPAs over 3.5 as well, with Tiffany Wong leading the pack with a 3.96 as a Mathematics major.
The NTCA All-Academic Team honors collegiate bowlers who have excelled in the classroom while competing at the highest levels of the sport. For more information please visit NTCABowling.com.
