Blair and Drusch Awarded Adelphi Female Co-Rookies of the Year

Garden City, N.Y. - After their first seasons donning the Brown and Gold, two Adelphi University student-athletes shined above the rest. Shareve Blair of track and field and Ivory Drusch of women's golf have both been named this year's Adelphi Female Co-Rookies of the Year, at the athletic department's end of year awards ceremony held in May.

Blair shined on the track in both the indoor and outdoor seasons. She boasted the top time for a freshman in the 60 meter dash during her first indoor campaign, also landing on the podium at her first NE10 Indoor Championships. In the outdoor season, she finished inside the top 20 within the East region for both triple jump and 100 meter dash.

Blair also helped her team earn points at the NE10 Outdoor Championships in the women's 4x100, placing fourth overall.

Drusch came to Adelphi from Minnesota, but settled into the northeast quickly by winning three NE10 Rookie of the Week nods. Within her first six tournaments as a Panther, she finished inside the top 11 in four of them.

Consistently earning the number two spot for the team, her most impressive round came at the Saint Anselm Florida Invitational in March. There, the White Bear Lake native shot a three-over 76 for the first round lead on the backing of three birdies, eventually helping the Brown and Gold to a team win. In the offseason, she was crowned NE10 Co-Rookie of the Year, alongside Sofia Campo from University of New Haven.

"This is such an honor to be named a co-recipient [of this award] with another amazing athlete. Shout out to my coach [Bill Bresnan] and all my teammates, you all made this season so fun. I'd also like to shout out my parents and everyone at home for supporting me, I wouldn't have been able to do this without you," said Drusch.

More information on our 2024-25 year-end award winners is forthcoming this week. Stay tuned to AUPanthers.com for updates.
