Northborough, Mass. - Ahead of the NCAA Division II National Semifinal, three athletes from the Adelphi University women's lacrosse program have been recognized as All-Americans, the Intercollegiate Women's LACrosse Coaches Association announced on Wednesday.

In total, 48 athletes from 23 different institutions were divided into first, second and third teams, to be recognized as the top athletes in the sport this year.

Sophomore Ashley Kolomechuk earns First Team honors for the first time in her career as one of six attack selections. With a team-leading 100 points, Kolomechuk ranks 15th nationally and is 18th in goals among Division II competition. She posts a near-70 percent shot on goal percentage having recorded a hat trick or better in 15 of the team's 21 contests.

This year's Northeast 10 Defensive Player of the Year Sonny Lionetti turns her season into Second Team All-American recognition. In addition to causing 34 turnovers this season she has also become a force on the draw circle, picking up 54 wins.

Rounding out the honors is junior Rita Sefransky on the Third Team, after being an NE10 First Team selection earlier this season. Starting and playing in all games thus far, Sefransky ranks second on the team in draw controls, and is tied for third in scoring with 43 goals.
