Northborough, Mass. - For the final time of the season and her career, Adelphi women's lacrosse netminder Madison Marchetta has been named the Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) on Tuesday. 

During her clutch performance in the Panthers' 13-12 overtime vivtory against Pace, Marchetta logged 12 saves with a .500 save percentage, helping secure Adelphi's return to the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Final Four.

Ironically, the Offensive Player of the Week comes from the team's next opponent in Grace Rotter from Slippery Rock University. Rotter led the SRU attack with six points on three goals and three assists in route to a historic upset victory over No. 1-seeded West Chester University in the Quarterfinal Round of the NCAA Division II Tournament. 

The matchup will be the first meeting all-time between the two program's, as Slippery Rock makes it's first ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Final Four, while Adelphi makes it's 16th trip.
