Tempe, Ariz. — In what was a historic season for the Adelphi men's tennis team, both Karen Serina and Marko Jovanovic have been recognized nationally by the ITA. 

Serina was named the 2025 ITA East Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year, her second such honor after being named the region's best women's assistant coach just a year ago. Jovanovic was named the regions Senior Player of the Year after being named the regions Player to Watch in 2024. 

Jovanovic is the first Adelphi player the win three NE10 player of the year honors in a row and the fourth athlete of all time to ever accomplish the feat. He finished his final season with a 20-4 singles record and on a six match unbeaten streak. 

Under the guidance of Serina and head coach Rebecca Fakas, the Panthers were able to capture their second consecutive Northeast-10 title and earn the first NCAA Tournament win in program history with a dominant 4-0 win over the University of the District of Columbia on May 9. 

The pair now look to the Fall to improve on two great seasons from the men's and women's teams.
