Mansfield, Mass. - After earning major awards in their respective sports, Adelphi University's
Kambel Fiser (volleyball) and
Marko Jovanovic (men's tennis) have now been named the institution's nominees for the Northeast-10 Scholar-Athlete of the Year Awards, announced by the league office this week.
The NE10 presents its prestigious Outstanding Scholar Athlete of the Year awards to a male and a female graduating student-athlete who have each exhausted their athletic eligibility and who have exhibited sustained excellence in both academic achievement and athletic competition.
A three-time Ron Lenz Player of the Year, two-time CSC Academic All-American and 2023-24 CSC Team Member of the Year, Jovanovic boasts a 3.983 cumulative grade point average and will graduate this month with a degree in finance.
He was twice named the NE10's Elite 24 award winner and helped his team bring home back-to-back conference titles at no. 1 singles. Outside of his sport he was awarded the Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Key - given to a graduating senior with the highest GPA in the business school and is a Willumstad Leadership Scholar.
Fiser, a west coast native, wrapped up her Adelphi career as the NE10 Setter of the Year and First Team All-Conference honoree, while pursuing a degree in exercise science. With a 3.857 cumulative GPA, she picked up AVCA All-American Honorable Mention accolades and was a two-time All-Region selection. In her time she set a new program mark for assists in a game (62) and finishes seventh all-time in career assists for the Panthers.
Her postgraduate plans include attending Drexel University starting this fall for the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
Award winners will be named at the 2025 NE10 Banquet, scheduled for June 3 in Manchester, NH.
