Mansfield, Mass. – Upon the conclusion of the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference softball tournament, the Adelphi University softball team was granted four selections to the various All-Conference teams, announced by the NE10 on Wednesday afternoon.
A total of four Adelphi University players were selected to three different teams, led by Courtney Murphy and Lily Kenney on the second team.
Pace University led the conference in major award winners with Giselle Garcia being named Pitcher of the Year and head coach Claudia Stabile winning Coach of the Year. Saint Michael's College's Jenna Devens was named the Player of the Year, as Bentley University led all schools with 15 selections.
The pair of Cats making All-Conference Second Team in senior outfielder Murphy and sophomore pitcher Kenney each collected their first recognitions of the kind. Murphy led the Brown and Gold with a .333 batting average and 34 hits, adding a .968 fielding percentage. Kenney panned out to be one of the top pitchers in the conference with an overall earned-run-average of 2.44, and only walking five batters all season. Prior to Tuesday's game, Kenney sat second in the country in strikeout to walk ratio, striking out 13 batters to every walk.
Senior Zee Zee Shreter was named to the All-Defensive Team for the second straight year. The Delran, N.J. native served as a constant in the outfield for Adelphi during the 2025 campaign. She finished the year with a .958 fielding percentage, with 64 putouts to add to her record.
Rookie Maddy Moore rounded out the honorees for the Panthers, notching an All-Rookie selection. The Chester, N.H. native started 27 games during her freshman season, finishing with a .292 batting average, 21 hits and 10 RBI. She was tied for the team lead in home runs with three, and led the team in slugging percentage with .500.
Head Coach Katie Apostolopoulos and Adelphi will now travel to Pace, host site of the NE10 Softball Championship. They will play in Game 2 on Thursday against sixth-seeded Assumption University. First pitch from Pleasantville, N.Y. is scheduled for 1 p.m..
