4/2/2025 11:15:00 AM

Suffern, N.Y. - With another strong performance, the Adelphi University men's golf team finished in first place at the Charger Challenge, taking place at Spook Rock Golf Course.

Nearby Dominican University of New York hosted the tournament, taking home third. Rounding out the six-team field was Felician University (second), Post University (fourth), Franklin Pierce University (fifth), and Chestnut Hill College at the bottom.

Johnny Solari had the most impressive showing, shooting two-under on Day 1 and eventually finishing in fourth. Just behind him was freshman Mitchell Archer who's having a stellar rookie campaign. The DeWitt, N.Y. native also tallied a score below the par line in Round 1, balancing out for sixth by the end of play.

The Panthers had four golfers in the top ten, as senior Mason Rivera improved drastically from his five-over in the opening round to rally for an even 72 on Tuesday. Francis Lanuza used a consistent level of play to accumulate a three-over 75 on both days of action.

Alec Ramos and Kobe Currie rounded out the Brown and Gold scorecard, shooting a 152 and 158, respectively.

Head Coach David Mattana and Adelphi will be back in action next week for the LIU Tournament, hosted by Long Island University. Competition from Brookville Country Club will commence on Monday, April 14, and conclude on Tuesday, April 15.
