North Attleboro, Mass. – Adelphi University field hockey's Lana Mignon De Wet and Jena Geels have been recognized by the Northeast 10 Conference for their outstanding performances over the past week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

De Wet was named the NE10 Player of the Week, while Geels earned Rookie of the Week honors.

De Wet concluded her regular season in dominant fashion, recording back-to-back hat tricks in each of the Panthers' final two contests. Against Molloy University, the midfielder singlehandedly went on a 3-0 scoring run in a decisive 8-0 victory. She followed that effort with another three-goal performance against Saint Michael's College, netting the first two goals of the game before capping the win with the final tally.

The South African native closed the regular season leading the conference in both goals (22) and points (49). This marks the third time this season De Wet has received Player of the Week honors.

Geels earned her first career weekly recognition following a standout performance in Adelphi's 8-0 victory over the Lions. The freshman forward notched a career-high two goals and matched her career best with two assists in the contest. She carried that momentum into Saturday's regular season finale, finding the back of the net once again to extend her scoring streak to three consecutive games. A native of the Netherlands, Geels concludes her debut campaign as the NE10 leader in assists (10) while totaling 20 points on the season.

De Wet, Geels, and the Panthers return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 4, when they host Southern Connecticut State University in the Northeast 10 Championship quarterfinal at 4 p.m. in Garden City.
