Women's Hoops Tied for Seventh in NE10 Preseason Coaches Poll

10/22/2025 3:00:00 PM

North Attleboro, Mass. - Following a balanced 2024–25 campaign, the Adelphi University women's basketball program is set to return to action and has been ranked seventh in the Northeast-10 Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, unveiled Wednesday.

The Panthers received 31 total votes, tying with Southern New Hampshire University for the seventh spot. Finishing behind them were Pace University (26 votes) and Franklin Pierce University (12 votes). Leading the poll is four-time reigning NE10 Champion Bentley University, after securing the overwhelming majority of first place votes, with nine. To see the full poll results, see below.

Last season, the Panthers were ranked 10th in the preseason poll but made a deep postseason run, falling just one game short of the NE10 Championship after a loss in the conference semifinals.

Adelphi will be without two of its top three scorers from last season — Kaitlyn O'Connell and Rolanda Robinson — but returns key contributors Isabella Asencio and Christina Sanchez. Asencio averaged 11.2 points per game, ranking second on the team, while Sanchez served as a valuable 3-and-D player under head coach Sade Jackson.

The Brown and Gold open the season with an exhibition game at Fordham University on Nov. 3 before officially starting the season on Friday, Nov. 14 inside the Center for Recreation and Sports.
