Garden City, N.Y. – Heading into his fifth season as the head coach for the Adelphi University baseball program, Bill Ianniciello has released the schedule for the 2025 campaign.
After the Northeast-10 conference released its coaches poll last Monday, the Panthers will aim to outperform their third place ranking. The squad will return the Southwest Division Player of the Year in grad student Joe Pellegrino and other key upperclassmen.
Ianniciello and the 'Cats will start the season in Myrtle Beach, S.C.on Feb. 21 at noon against Queens College for their first tilt of the Northeast Challenge. Over the next two days, the team will play two double headers against Mercy University (Feb. 22) and the College of Staten Island (Feb. 23).
Upon their return home, the Panthers will make their way to Dobbs Ferry to play Mercy again on Feb. 27 at 3 p.m.
Baseball in Garden City kicks off on Sunday, March 2 as Chestnut Hill College comes to William J. Bonomo Field with first pitch of a double header scheduled for 11 a.m.
For their annual spring break trip, the squad will travel to Cary, N.C. for the Cary Invitational. They will play four games over the course of three days, with a double header against Saint Anselm on March 8.
The first game back from North Carolina will be home against Queens College on March 11 at 3 p.m.
Adelphi then will settle into a three game series with rival Pace on Friday, March 14 with the first and third game happening in Garden City.
The Panthers get comfortable at home for a six game home stand, with a game against CSI (March 18), doubleheaders against Assumption (March 22) and Bentley (March 23), and closing with the Dominican on March 25.
As conference play continues, the team will travel to Springfield, Mass., and play a four-game weekend series against American International from March 28-30.
The month of April will feature a 14 game road trip, lasting almost the entire month. After concluding a weekend series with Southern Connecticut from April 5-6, the 'Cats will play pivotal games away from home.
On April 13, the team will be in Rindge, N.H. to take on Franklin Pierce for a doubleheader. The Ravens were NE10 finalists last season, and received one first place vote to win the Northeast Division in this year's coaches' poll.
Adelphi finds itself in West Haven, Conn. on April 18 and 19, as they battle the reigning conference champions in New Haven. The Chargers received seven first place votes in the Southwest Division.
The road trip will end on April 27 when the team faces off against Southern New Hampshire for a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m. The Penmen received 10 out of the possible 11 first place votes in the coaches poll and were predicted to repeat as division champs.
The Brown and Gold close out the season with a series against Long Island rival Molloy. Game one will happen in Garden City on May 2, with first pitch at 3 p.m. Games two and three will take place at Molloy's home field on May 3, with the first game of the doubleheader starting at noon.
The first round of the NE10 tournament will start on May 6, with the highest seed hosting the opening games. This year, the Southwest Division winner will host the championship.
