MANSFIELD, Mass. - For the first time in NE10 history an Adelphi Panther was voted Men's Swimmer of the Year as freshman Ryan Kakimseit was chosen in a vote of the league's coaches. Kakimseit also claimed NE10 Rookie of the Year.

A product of New York City, Kakimseit captured six gold medals at the 2024 NE10 Championship, winning individually in the 100 fly, 100 back and 200 back while winning on relays in the 400 medley, 200 medley and 400 free.

Not only does Kakimseit's win mark the first time a student-athlete has earned both NE10 Rookie of the Year and Swimmer of the Year in the same season, but Kakimseit is also the first Rookie of the Year to also win Swimmer of the Year at any point in his career to date.

Adelphi becomes only the third program to take home Swimmer of the Year in the last 12 seasons, joining Southern Connecticut State and former NE10 member Le Moyne.

Kakimseit's award headlined a class that also includes Pace's Sean Rorke, an NCAA qualifier, as Diver of the Year for the second consecutive season. Adelphi's Marc Danin was named Coach of the Year for the first time in his career while Pace's Dylan Korn repeated from 2023 as Diving Coach of the Year.
