Marc Danin

Since being appointed to the post of head swimming and diving coach in October 2021, Marc Danin enters his fourth season leading the Panthers in 2024-25.

Wasting no time, Danin made history as the first Adelphi swim coach to earn Northeast-10 Coach of the Year honors following the 2023-24 season. At the conference championship, he coached the men's team to a program-best finish of third (with a record 590.5 team points) and the women to sixth - both program bests. His program set a record with 17 medals and saw Ryan Kakimseit make history after being the first NE10 athlete in men's swimming and diving to earn the titles of Rookie and Swimmer of the Year in the same seasons.

Prior to the 2023-24 he was appointed to the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Committee. Danin's term of service on the committee will begin September 1, 2023, and continue through August 31, 2027. As a member of an NCAA committee, appointees are expected to sustain and advance the Association's mission, traditions, values and reputation, support the consensus of the committee and serve as an advocate for the association and membership, among other things.

No stranger to the Long Island swimming scene, Danin is the owner of the Islanders Aquatics Club, based out of Suffolk County, which he started in 2011. There, he is responsible for managing three accredited USA Swimming competitive clubs through direct oversight of registration, hiring, event coordination, training plan development, and budget management.

In 2014, Danin took over as the Director of Aquatics and Head Varsity Coach at the Stony Brook School, where he spearheaded the formation of a girls' and boys' varsity swimming and diving program. He coordinated logistical aspects of competitions, swim camps, and clinics generating $100,000 in revenue for the program, all while building it into the successful program it is today.

On the club level, he has trained and developed top eight and under, Silver, Junior Olympic, Zone, Top 16, Junior National, Futures, National and Senior National Qualifiers and Paralympic Trial qualifier in 2020.

A 1994 graduate of Stony Brook University, Danin swam competitively for four years with the Seawolves, earning MVP honors in the 1992-93 season with an All-American honor to boot in the backstroke.
