Concord, N.H. - After a Day 2 where they shot the best team score on the course, the Adelphi University men's golf team has finished in second place at the Northeast-10 Championships held at Concord Country Club earlier this week. 

Freshman Mitchell Archer was also crowned individual champion after leveraging a Round 2 score of two-under 68 to force a three-hole playoff with Jack Pepin of Southern New Hampshire. The newcomer proved his inexperience was no obstacle in facing the senior, winning the playoff to be given official first-place status.

The Panthers finished with a team score of 40-over 880, with the second round's combined score of two-under 278 giving themselves vital insurance to secure runner-up honors. 

Host and eventual champions Southern New Hampshire University took home the team title by 15 strokes after holding their own in Round 3 after combining for an initial two-round score of five-over 265.  In third through eighth place was Assumption University (+52), Saint Anselm College (+67), American International College (+76), Franklin Pierce University (+77), Bentley University (+79), and University of New Haven (+81). 

Junior Francis Lanuza scored the best individual round of anyone at the tournament, tabbing a four-under 66 in Round 2, proving to be enough to earn him a tie for third. Senior Mason Rivera shot a consistent five-over 75 in the first two rounds, completing the tournament after a final six-over to slide in at 15th place. 

Johnny Solari also locked down a top-20 finish after scoring a four-over 74 in Round 3, just one stroke behind Archer. Alec Ramos rounded out the Panther scorecard with 21-over 231 to finish in a tie for 21st place. 

Head Coach David Mattana and Adelphi will take a one-day break and host the Panther Invitational on Thursday, October 10 from Meadow Brook Club in Jericho, N.Y.
