Farmingdale, N.Y. - In their final fall tournament of the season, the Adelphi University men's golf team came home with a victory at the George Cangero Invitational that wrapped play Sunday afternoon. The tournament was hosted by Farmingdale State College at Bethpage Blue Golf Course.

While Gettysburg College as well as Luther College (Iowa) tied the Brown and Gold at seven-under 569, the tiebreaker came down to each team's fifth player's score in Round 2. The Bullets' Christian Deussing and the Norse's Hogan Reuter shot four-over 76, which were both inferior to Adelphi's Mason Rivera coming one stroke below at 75 to seal the win.

Consistency was key for the Panthers this past weekend, with three golfers finishing inside the top eight. Juniors Francis Lanuza and Johnny Solari each tied for sixth, shooting three-under 141 across 36 holes. Newcomer Mitchell Archer came in at eighth, shooting a one-under 71 in both rounds.

Axel Romney finished in a tie for 23th, going four-over 148.

Individuals Kobe Currie and Alec Ramos rounded out the Panther scorecard, with total scores of 149 and 152, respectively.

Head Coach David Mattana and Adelphi will now look ahead to the spring season, stay tuned to AUPanthers.com for up-to-the-minute information on the men's golf program.
