Jericho, N.Y. - In its third tournament playing host within the last calendar year, the Adelphi University men's golf team slotted in at third place in the 2024 Panther Invitational, being held at Meadow Brook Club. 

Division I Hofstra took the crown, with the Panthers falling just six strokes behind second-place St. Thomas Aquinas. The field bottomed out with Farmingdale State College, Dominican (N.Y.), and Post University. 

Francis Lanuza continued his hot stretch of recent play, finishing fourth individually. The Philippines native stayed consistent through both rounds, going four and five-over respectively for a total score of nine-over 153.

Also keeping up the good play was NE10 individual champion Mitchell Archer. The freshman bounced back with a one-over 73 in Round 2 to secure a seventh place finish. While not competing for the team score, Axel Romney competed as an individual, tying for 11th after a two-round score of 13-over 157. 

Mason Rivera saw a strong opening round where he posted a six-over 78 and tallied a birdie. The senior would finish in 14th place by days end. 

Alec Ramos and Johnny Solari rounded out the Panther scorecard with a 165 and 167, respectively. 

Head Coach David Mattana and Adelphi will be back in action starting on Monday, Oct. 14 when they compete in the Post Invitational. They'll finish tournament play on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from Watertown Country Club in Watertown, Conn.
