Women's Basketball Strengthens Formidable Frontcourt With Addition of Horvath

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's basketball team is about to add more length to a formidable frontcourt for the 2023-24 season.

Not only are the Panthers excited to bring back their mainstay interior presence from last season in Jenna Jordan, Head Coach Sade Jackson will have another big in the fold in Fruzsina Horvath.

A transfer from Division I Murray State University, Horvath -- standing at six feet tall -- saw action in 21 games off the bench for the Racers in 2022-23.

Horvath previously spent two years (2020-22) at now-defunct athletic program St. Francis College Brooklyn. While suiting up for the Terriers, Horvath averaged a career 12.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in 32 total appearances.

She ranked as the team's second-leading scorer in both of her seasons at SFC and -- in 2020-21 -- earned the title of NEC Rookie of the Year, after ranking in the Top 10 in the conference in scoring and rebounding.

"Fru is a wonderful addition to our program. Her shooting, rebounding, and versatility at her position will have an immediate impact for us," said Jackson.

Originally from Budapest, Hungary, Horvath was a six-time national champion in high school and twice medaled at the U-18 FIBA European Championship.

The Adelphi women's basketball team will unveil its 2023-24 schedule in the fall. Please stay tuned to AUPanthers.com for more information.
