Mansfield, Mass. - Less than two weeks removed from going head-to-head in the regular season, the No. 4 seed Adelphi University baseball team has a one-game playoff at Le Moyne College on Tuesday in the 2023 NE10 Tournament.

The Panthers entered last weekend's series against Southern Connecticut State University with the slimmest of opportunities to still reach the postseason.

With the help of two walk-off victories, Adelphi broke out the brooms to sweep the NE10 Southwest Division-leading Owls and return to the NE10 Championship stage.

In a strikingly similar fashion, Head Coach Bill Ianniciello's Panthers swept a four-game series from Pace to cap off the 2021 campaign, resulting in the team winning a second-straight NE10 Southwest Division title.

The decision now turns to Ianniciello on who to send to the mound in a single-elimination contest.

John Rizzo and Jordan Falco produced the best track records at Le Moyne in Adelphi's regular-season encounter. Rizzo went 6.1 strong and struck out eight in his no-decision, while Falco earned the lone win for the 'Cats in the series.

Offensively, Adelphi hung 27 runs on Le Moyne pitching in the season series, despite going 1-3. The Panthers hit .366 as a team, highlighted by Anthony Cipri's .588 average with two homers and four RBIs.

Adelphi and Le Moyne go face-to-face one last time this year on Tuesday (May 9) at 2 p.m. at Dick Rockwell Field in Syracuse, N.Y.

The winner moves onto the double-elimination portion of the 2023 NE10 Championship this weekend (May 11-13) at the Southwest Division's highest remaining seed.
