Indianapolis, Ind. — The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee has announced the participants for the 2023 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which includes repeat athletes from the indoor season in Isabel Marsh and Kyria Moore.
A total of 754 participants, 377 men and 377 women, will compete in the championships. Student-athletes qualified for the championships by reaching a provisional standard established for each event. The complete list of qualifiers is available here.
I. Marsh heads into the competition seeded 13th with a time of 2:08.93 and is the lone athlete from the East Region. This will be her first trip to the outdoor championship, after making it to the Indoor counterpart this past winter season. Ultimately making the finals, Isabel earned a spot on the podium after running a 2:11.30 to place seventh overall in the finals. A quick start for the East Meadow native, her split times at both the 200 (29.78) and 400 (62.42) was the fastest start to a race she's put together this season.
Moore makes her first collegiate appearnce at the outdoor championship, after representing the Panthers in the weight throw during the indoor season. She was seeded first and ultimately finished as the event's runner up with a launch of 20.08 meters on her second attempt. In the hammer throw event, the Amityville, NY native will enter the competition seeded seventh with her best launch landing at 59.24 meters. The top-seed, is senior Judith Essemiah, from Grand Valley State, who successfully threw 63.57 meters this season.
The hammer is set to take place on Thursday, May 25 at approximately 2:30 p.m. as the first round of the 800 will go off at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26.
The championships will be held May 25-27 in Pueblo, Colorado at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl. Colorado State University, Pueblo will serve as host of the championships. The championships will be streamed live on www.NCAA.com.
