Mansfield, Mass. - Senior infielder
Anthony Cipri fronts a ledger of five 'Cats who were named to the 2023 NE10 Baseball All-Conference Team on Wednesday afternoon.
Four of the five Panthers selected were first-time honorees, headlined by Cipri's NE10 Second Team All-Conference selection.
Cipri left it all on the table in his senior year, slashing a career-best .375/.412/.500, to go along with four home runs and 25 RBIs. His 33 runs scored and 63 hits in 168 at-bats were career-highs, as well.
After having all of ten in the regular season last year, the sturdy second baseman racked up 17 multiple-hit games this season atop the Adelphi order -- including a pair of four-hit contests.
Following an injury-plagued 2022 campaign,
Alec Maag shined as Adelphi's leading hitter, earning NE10 Third Team All-Conference honors in the process.
Flirting with a .400 average for much of the year, Maag finished the season at .380 to rank second among all NE10 catchers. His fourteen doubles were among the Top 10 leaders in the conference.
Kyle Olson was hampered by a slow start, but fought his way back to lead the 'Cats with six home runs and 37 RBIs. His .325 average accompanied Cipri and Maag as the leading hitters on the team.
A Third Team NE10 All-Conference performer in 2023, Olson receives his second NE10 All-Conference citation in as many years, after producing another near-errorless season as the team's starting left-fielder.
Brendan Kenneally and
Albert Ramos both found themselves on the NE10 All-Rookie Team.
Kenneally bookended the first year of his collegiate career with exceptional appearances. He got the win in his Adelphi debut with four innings of two-hit relief ball versus Staten Island, and fired a complete-game three-hitter in his final start against Southern Connecticut.
The freshman impressively won four of his final six starts in 2023, allowing three runs or fewer each time to post a superb 2.44 earned-run average over that stretch.
Ramos got put at the hot corner in Year 1 and flashed his fine glove to the tune of a .917 fielding percentage. Across 43 starts as the team's third baseman, Ramos also tallied 43 hits in 154 at-bats for a .279 average.
