Garden City, N.Y. - Now that first-round games have concluded, the remaining six-team field is set to converge on Janet L. Ficke Field for the 2023 NE10 Softball Championship this Thursday through Saturday.
Daily tickets will be sold at the gate, at a cost of $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and youths under the age of eighteen. All NE10 students with valid ID will be admitted free of charge.
Any fans wishing to obtain tickets ahead of time may purchase at the following
link. A live stream of all five games will air on
NE10NOW.tv -- including Saturday's championship final.
This time last year, the Panthers celebrated the team's fourth NE10 Tournament title (first since 2018) on their own field, following
Ashley Lombardi's walk-off homer in the 10th inning against Saint Anselm.
A pack of teams vied for this year's NE10 regular-season championship, until Adelphi's current and near-record-tying 20-game winning streak propelled the 'Cats back to the No. 1 seed.
Of the five teams challenging Adelphi for the crown, the Panthers went 6-2 against the remaining field in the regular season. Only Saint Anselm and Assumption were able to take a game off the 'Cats.
By virtue of possessing the No. 1 seed, Adelphi has an automatic bye to Friday's semifinals, where it will host the winner of the second-round game between No. 4 seed Saint Anselm and No. 8 seed Southern New Hampshire.
The winner of the 2023 NE10 Championship will receive the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division II Tournament. As of last Wednesday's regional rankings, the Panthers held the No. 1 ranking in the East Region.
