4/27/2023 12:00:00 PM

Garden City, N.Y.- It's been a long two months since President's Day weekend down in Florida, and its time for the postseason to get underway.

The Adelphi University men's lacrosse team (14-2) has earned the no. 3 seed in the NE10 championship, after an 8-2 finish in conference play.

A quarterfinal date has been set with No. 6 Southern New Hampshire (6-5, 5-5 NE10) for this Saturday (Apr. 29) at 1:00 p.m. at Motamed Field.

Back in March, the Panthers dismantled SNHU 17-7 at home, with Logan Tucker scoring five and All-American Joseph Duchnowski netting a hat trick of his own.

Since their first matchup in 2010, the 'Cats are undefeated against the Penmen, winning all 13 matchups. Their last postseason matchup came in 2021, facing off in the NE10 quarterfinals in the #3 vs. #6 matchup at Motamed Field. Current Adelphi athletes Joseph Duchnowski, Brian Harinski, and Jack Hipchen all scored a goal in that game.

The Panthers come into this matchup dropping their last two games to no. 18 Bentley and no. 1 Le Moyne both at home. Southern New Hampshire comes in as winners of five of their last six games, including two overtime victories against Franklin Pierce and Saint Michael's.

Adelphi will be attempting to win their second consecutive NE10 title and their fourth since 2014. The 'Cats have won three of their last four NE10 postseason games.

The winner of Saturday's game will travel to no. 2 Bentley to take on the Falcons on Wednesday, May 3. Game time would be at 7:00 p.m.
