Virginia Beach, VA - Three of Adelphi's elite individuals will have the chance to continue their indoor season next week after being selected to the 2023 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Kyria Moore will represent the Panthers in the weight throw and the Marsh twins will both compete in the 800m event. This is the first time an individual has qualified for the indoor championships since the 2018 season for the women. In

Katie Rees. "None of them were at this level last year -- it took tons of dedication, hard work, sacrifice and growth for them to position themselves to earn a spot to the championship."
The championships will be held March 10-11 in Virginia Beach, VA at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. Norfolk State University and Visit Virginia Beach will serve as co-hosts of the championships.
In Rees's tenure, this is the first time a member of the women's team has qualified in the 800 and her first-ever weight throw appearance.
Moore will enter the competition as the top-ranked athlete, after throwing over 20 meters this weekend (20.81m) to lead all of Division II. The entire weight throw competition will take place on Friday, set for 4:00 p.m.
Katherine and
Isabel Marsh enter as no. 4 and 5 in a selection field of 18. Their seed times are set at 2:08.57 and 2:08.64, respectively, after impressive outings at Northeast-10 Championships and the Boston Last chance meet over the weekend.

In addition to the three individuals attending, at the conclusion of indoor competition, the Adelphi University women's track and field program jumped up 16 positions and currently ranks 11th among all Division II institutions according to the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association release on Tuesday.
