Garden City, N.Y. - With both basketball teams set to tip off their home openers this week, the Adelphi University Department of Athletics is running the following promotions to entice your attendance at the Center for Recreation and Sport.
A Hall Wars challenge is first being laid down at Wednesday's 5:30 p.m. women's basketball home opener against American International College. The residence hall with the highest attendance at the game will receive a free catering party, courtesy of Moe's Southwest Grill.
After a successful turnout last year, the Adelphi University Department of Athletics is inviting all Greek Life back for another installation of Battle of the Greeks at Saturday's scheduled 3:30 p.m. home opener for the men's basketball team.
The fraternity or sorority with the highest percentage of attendees at the game will be rewarded with a free pizza party, courtesy of Luigi's Pizzeria of Mineola.
With the support of the Inter-Greek Council and Student Government Association, the parking lot located adjacent to Motamed Field will entertain a pre-game tailgate beginning at 11:30 a.m., prior to Saturday's 1:30 p.m. women's tip-off.
The Panther Pantry will be on-site to collect non-perishable donations ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, and each donation counts towards an extra raffle ticket.
Rally towels will be handed out to the first 150 fans at each game, and drawings are set to be held for premier raffle items -- including a signed New York Knicks jersey by Mitchell Robinson.
Corporate sponsors will be in attendance to offer free samples, and -- as always -- admission is free for all students with a valid Adelphi ID. Tickets are also available for purchase via Hometown Ticketing at the following
link.
