St. Charles, MO - Making its fourteenth trip to the Final Four, the Adelphi University women's lacrosse program will meet the University of Indianapolis for the second time this season, at 8:00 p.m. (EST) on the campus of Lindenwood University.
This semifinal matchup will be the second matchup for these two teams this season, with Adelphi taking a 7-5 win back on March 16, when the Greyhounds were ranked no. 1 in Division II. The Panther defense caused seventeen turnovers on a team that was coming off a win over Le Moyne. The Hounds' goal total that day marked a season low while matching their lowest since scoring five times at LeMoyne on March 2, 2019.
Indianapolis makes its first-ever semifinal appearance, boasting a 20-1 overall record, in just its seventh season in existence.
Adelphi's defense ranks third in Division II in scoring defense with 6.15 - sitting behind UIndy and Queens (NC). They've held opponents to single digit scoring in 17 games (only allowing double digits to SCSU and Stonehill (twice)).
Emma Lemanski leads all of Division II in goals allowed per game with 6.11.
Christina McCabe leads the team in scoring with 39 goals and 77 points - Emily Beier ranks second on the team in points (70) as the teams leader in assists (34). Izzy Grant has been dominant on the draw with 82 wins and 21 ground balls. Defensively, the Panthers are led by Alex Beebe with 37, as Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year Kailey Broderick is second with 31.
Head Coach Pat McCabe has been at the helm of Adelphi since the fall of 2014, winning his first National Championship in his first season, 2015. Since then, he has won in 2017 and 2019.
